Book Review: "Rules of Civility" by Amor Towles Rules of Civility by Amor Towles is a captivating look at New York upper class café society of the late 1930s from the point of view of an upwardly striving woman from the lower middle class. A chance encounter and its consequences form the basis of the story. The characters are complex and well drawn, and the period detail is transporting. The writing style is clever without being distracting. Recommended.
